Long-radius impact sprinklers are especially recommended when a greater rotation speed is needed for a brief watering to dampen playing surfaces before a match, in addition to normal watering cycles. Impact sprinklers also have superior features compared to turbines in terms of using water that is not perfectly clean, or use in windy environments, because the size of the water drop is greater and it reduces the dispersive effect typical of over-nebulised sprays. The solenoid valve integrated in both models can be accessed from the top part of the sprinkler, making installation and maintenance easy.
